Justin went viral on twitter for a chrome extension that runs real-time diffusion to augment the images on any website. We open sourced it as Browser Diffusion. Before we open sourced it, I thought it would be sick to recreate the build pipeline with esbuild so I spent a day diving into that rabbit hole. In retrospect, it was definitely not the best use of my time. We ended up using Vite after realizing it would take too long to fill my esbuild knowledge gaps just to ship a chrome extension. I need to get better at picking the technical explorations to invest my time into. There’s so much cool stuff to learn but very limited time to allocate :(
